Eight THSSDL state champs, 4 runner-ups cap Showstopper season

Showstopper State Champions

 

The Science Hill High School Showstoppers ended the competition season in Showstopping fashion at the Tennessee High School Speech and Drama League State Championships this past weekend at Bartlett High School in Memphis, TN.  Competing against 31 teams from across the state, the Showstoppers placed a state-best 18 performances into finals and crowned 8 state champions and 4 state runners-up.

The Interpreter’s Theatre performance of “Through Her Eyes” placed 4th at the State Championship. The cast for this performance is Sophie Young, Daniella Quewea, Madelyn Campbell, Taylor Robey, Julie Anne Dugger, Amy Li, and Isabella Webb.

The One-Act Play performance of Months on End placed 4th at the State Championship. The cast for this performance was Sarah Nipper, Owen Hoover, Nora Honeycutt, Henry Hance, Adam Everhart, Kaylee Rogers, and George Lane. Owen Hoover, Henry Hance, and Adam Everhart were named to the State All-Star Cast.

The Showstoppers end the year with 301 individual awards, 70 individual tournament championships, and winning team championships in all 6 invitational tournaments in which they competed!
